I am always asked to use a washable or scrubbable paint product that is not to shiny. The majority of our interior paint jobs are painted with an egg- shell finish (medium sheen or shine). This is a durable finish with a tough enough sheen to handle light abuse from kids or small animals. The main thing I like to point out to my customers is never to wash the walls within 30 days of the paint job completion. Most people are suprised to hear that paint takes up to 30 days to cure or harden completely. |

This was the week for accent walls. And everyone knows that accent walls are usually deep dark colors (ie.red, blue, terracotta, etc...) I have a great secret for applying these colors and making sure they cover with only 2 coats with no priming! The product is Color Accents from Sherwin Williams. I can not say enough good things about this product. As a painting contractor I know that time is money and also fewer coats of paint makes me more competitive on my bids. I always hear horror stories about people who want to paint an accent wall a deep red and wind up applying 4-5 coats of paint and are still not satisfied with the results. Its a no wonder why people hate to paint!
